Vegas Video, Automatic color adjustment?

I am making a star trek transporter effect for one of my movies and i have a problem that i need some help with. Vegas video seems to have some kind of automatic color adjustment when it loads in videos, but not images. This is a serious problem because this color adjustment makes the sky more blue, but the matte picture that i am using for the effect stays a bright bright blue color as it was orginally recorded on the camera. I would like to know how to add this auto color adjustment to the picture. I have tried alot of different hue, brightness and contrast options but it does not want to work, can you help me?

You didn't say what format the stills were. For sure there are differences in compression. AFASK there is no automatic color adjustment, there are many filters you can use. I mostly just eyeball it.

From your description sounds mostly a levels problem If you're using version 4, start with color corrector and/or color corrector secondary. If you're using version 3 try levels, color curves in combination.

The stills are most likey stored in Computer RGB colors since they have been through photoshop. Use the advanced color correction tools and selct the preset to change Computer RGB to Video. It will limit some of the ranges etc. Can't guarentee it will work for you, but advice is worth what you pay for it :)
