Vegas/Video Card Combinations?

We have been plagued with minor clicks and pops while
recording with Vegas since the beginning (either TDIF
through the MOTU 2408, or through analog inputs, makes no
difference) and I think we may have finally sussed out the
problem.

When Vegas is minnimized while recording we get no clicks
and pops either at 16 bit or 24 bit ... when Vegas is at
full screen or a window when recording the clicks and pops
return.

I am assuming that this is almost assuredly a video card
issue?

If that is the case, would anyone care to post what seems
to be working well for them in the video card department
with Vegas?

If this is not a video card issues, I would be more than
happy for some advice on what else to look for (color bit
depth and resolution don't seem to make any difference).

Any and all input appreciated ... and thanks in advance.

HI.
I have the same problem with while recording. But it helped me to
unselect the waveform display option. But I would also like to hear
some advice about Video card combinations. How much VideoRAM?AGP or
PCI?etc.

Hi Christian,

Tech support recommended going with AGP and said that RAM should have
no bearing, although they mentioned it may be best not to go 3D. We
haven't decided on chipset/model yet ... like you, kinda waiting to
hear from some actual hands on experience on what seems to work best
with Vegas. In my past experience driver stability has been a key
issue with video cards.

BTW, not using the waveform display did not help our situation, but
minnimizing the screen sure did. I was wondering if the clock display
being continually updated may have something to do with it as the
clock itself seems real jerky during record?

In any event, good luck.
