Vegas will not accept my Webbie MP4

I just bought a webbie and while I can import the MP4 files into the program. (in other words it sees them and lets me ad them to my que)

It will not let me drag them into the time line.

My version is 6 and it says that it supports Mpeg 4, but do I need to get / purchase an upgrade, now that I have the webbie.

I bought this originally because I bought a Sony HD cam and could not get my old Adobe Premier set up to read it.

I emailed support this question over 10 days ago and never recieved a reply

Thanks for the reply musicvid

I did not realize that h.264/avc and MP4 were the same

I thought that response in the other thread was for the original poster

but if I upgrade to version 9 it should support this format??

THanks

They are not the same. h.264/AVC is a codec that can be contained in an .mp4 wrapper. h.264/AVC is the codec used for your Webbie videos, and yes, it is available in Movie Studio 9 HD and Platinum editions (not the regular edition).

For more explanation of the difference between codecs and wrappers, see my tutorial.
