Vegas Won't Open

Thomas-Frantz wrote on 5/7/2022, 7:31 PM

I have Vegas Pro 18 & Vegas Pro 19 installed and running Windows 11. I know it's redundant to run both, but hear me out. Both ran well and worked as late as last week. Today neither does. They just won't open. I've tried rebooting, clicking on recent projects, starting through the Apps menu, desktop icons, I've not installed any new software on my system. Any ideas?

@Thomas-Frantz, I have VEGAS Pro 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19 installed on Windows 11!

What if you hold down CTRL-SHIFT and then start VEGAS? Also check the "Clear cache" box on the window that opens.

Then, are you getting an error message?

No luck.

I'm trying to avoid reinstalling.

@Thomas-Frantz Hi, check that a virus program like AVG isn't blocking it, I'm not saying it is that, it's just a thought that i had to share 👍🤷‍♂️

& as a matter of course check there's no updates for your Graphics driver & Windows,

hold down CTRL-SHIFT and then start VEGAS?

That is a reset @Thomas-Frantz, not a reinstall. It will restore your custom VP settings to the 'factory' defaults though.

A shared setting could be preventing both VP 18 and 19 from working normally.

@Thomas-Frantz: I am having the exact same problem!! I run Windows 11, and at times when I click on the Vegas Pro 19 icon to launch it, it works; but many more other times, it just won't! Simply nothing happens, the command is ignored! It's sooooo annoying! Did you find a solution?
