Have 80GB worth of uncompressed AVI content captured in YUY2 Colorspace, but Vegas will not support the video, it only sees Audio, it will support RGB24 AVi files captured but not YUY2, is there any plugin to use YUY2 files in vegas, free programs like Windows Moive Maker and Media Encoder suppport YUY2, why not Vegas?, even Ulead Moviestudio supports YUY2...

Vegas can only use VfW codecs, not the more recent DirectShow codecs that Windows Movie Maker, etc, are using.

In order to get Vegas to see your video you will need to install a suitable VfW codec for YUY2.

If you do a search on the usual codec download sites, e.g. here I expect you will find something suitable.

Uncompressed YUY2 is essentially a null codec. So just like DV it only needs conversion within the pipeline into RGB.

I'm not sure what is breaking down? Could you give a specification dump from a tool like GSpot or tell us what Vegas thinks of the media when you highlight it in Vegas-Explorer.

What made this YUY2.AVI file please? How many bits in depth is it per pixel or plane?
