FYI

Many don't realize just how easy it is to qualify for academic discounts. All you need is one person in your household who goes to a school - any school. This includes a child of any age. Pre K thru college or continuing professional education qualifies. Of course, there are restrictions on exclusive commercial use that might prohibit some of us here.

Academicsuperstore.com has FULL Vegas7 +DVDA for $270 and CS3 Web Premium for $490.

You can also pick up Vegas 7 + DVD at B&H for $250. It's an upgrade with a Vegas 6 disc, and it is also the full version. No academic discount required!

I would like to know if the Academic Versions of CS3 Web Pro and CS3 Production Pro are identical to the non-academic versions? Can the academic versions be upgraded in the future? Or, would restrictions apply? I see that the CS3 Master Collection for academic pricing is also quite good. BTW, I do have three kids in school.

Jay, I have an academic version of Photoshop 7 and, other than the cost savings, there's no difference between it and the non-academic version.
Same thing goes for Vegas.

Jay,

I also have the academic version of Photoshop 7.0. I was able to upgrade to the full version of CS2 without any problem. In fact, I called Adobe before placing my order and was told that there would be no problem with upgrading to the full version from an academic version.

From the B&H website:

"The suite includes CS3 versions of Dreamweaver ($398.95), Flash Professional ($698.95), Photoshop Extended ($998.95), Fireworks ($298.95), Illustrator ($598.95), Contribute ($148.95) and Acrobat 8 Professional. "

So, no Premiere, Encore, and/or whatever they're now calling the Serious Magic component

Looking on the B&H site, I like that little plastic DVD keep case on the Vegas upgrade. I wonder if I can get one of those for Vegas 8 when it comes out.
