Personally, I still prefer to sync on the measuregrid instead of beatmarkers, luckily Vegasaur Beat detector has also this option. Unfortunately, my music archive is in mp3 format, which isn't accepted by the beat detector. To manually convert first each time a MP3 to wave for beatdetection makes the timesaving of this new Vegasaur feature minimal..

The fact that it is necessary to first render the timeline audio files in WAV/PCM format so that the Beat Detector analyzes the beats is insignificant, because it is a super fast process if you use the Quick Render feature of Vegasaur.

When used in conjunction with other Vegasaur tools it does in seconds what I previously took hours to do.

Vegasur Beat Detector is undoubtedly an excellent tool for anyone who knows how to use it correctly.

I wouldn't say that this is insignificant especially when you're a supporter of automatic editing. For me its a beauty mistake because this, in my opinion, could also be done automatically.

I do not agree. But I respect your point of view. The Vegasaur developer is an extremely detailist and observant person, and if he did it that way he certainly has his reasons. As I do not understand programming and do not develop programs, I can not give my opinion with the technical knowledge of my own, so I'd rather keep quiet.

I'm also not a specialist in programming and scripting, but when I see that far more complex tasks, like batch stabilizing are achieved with Vegasaur. It seems to me peanuts to let Vegasaur render in the background a temporary wave file for beatdetection as soon as it detects a MP3 file.

By the way, It's not my intention to criticize Vegasaur or it's developer ( I also recommend Vegasaur on our Dutch Vegas-Forum as a must-have tool for Vegas).

Just a quick one. If you guys need a quick and easy way to convert audio, (ie mp3 to WAV or MP4 - from video, to mp3 etc.) have a look at this:

I am an audio composer, producer and have some powerful composing tools etc. but I still find this little utility very, very useful.
