Vegasaur plugin accuracy with FFmpeg

fridock-s wrote on 7/7/2022, 1:39 PM

So I tried trial of new Vegasaur just to test it's ability to split videos without reencoding and I noticed that the timings on the output are very inaccurate, it's adding from 2 to 10 extra seconds to my cut clips sometimes with glitched audio.
I submitted a bugreport but so far didn't receive any response.
Can someone share experience with using Vegasaur's Encodless Trim functionality?

bug?

"Please note that Smart Trim IS NOT frame accurate - it can only cut at keyframes, which can be several seconds a part. In most video formats it is not possible to cut on exact frames w/o re-encoding (since not all frames are intra-coded), so Smart Trim will try to cut at the closest points before and after the selected range. "

VideoSmartTrim in HappyOtterScripts is frame accurate without re-encoding. Although it also cuts on I-frames, it then matches the first frame of the timeline event with frames in the cut video to provide an accurate offset.

Does it work with Vegas 19?

Can we buy only the SmartVideoTrim plugin, when others aren't needed?
The same issue with Vegasaur.. I make 3d videos with 2 different cams, so the steroscopic 3d extension is very helpful (apply stereoscopic 3d adjust with auto correct option), but frankly i don't need any other extension, so the $100 price for the whole toolkit is too much.
Why can't we buy only what we need?
