VegasPro 8c panning question

SD, DV clip that I used the 'event pan/crop' on has quite a bit of interlacing/combing effect distortion. I just need to render it so that it shows the action clearly without the distortion. I tried mpeg2 (two pass) and .wmv9 but I can't seem to get a fairly clear render. Can anyone offer some suggestions? It involves a fast action collision between two soccer players. Thanks in advance.

Possibly try rendering to .AVI progressive?

change Render settings to BEST when you are resizing. I leave it in BEST all of the time.

once you decrease the resolution of SD it's just going to look worse. Not much you can to do make it look better. Remember, you're zooming in on interlaced video too, which makes it even worse. You could render out a progressive clip with the interlacing taken care of somehow, then pan/crop that one.

I tried the .avi/progressive but I cannot see any difference.
I always render with the settings at 'BEST' .
SD has always been fine (I just do video of my grandkids) until now. I will have to try rendering out a progressive clip and then pan/crop that one. Will let you know....after my nap....after all, grandkids just wear me out!

Thanks,

I took the clip in question and rendered it out as progressive .avi. I then put it on the timeline and added the pan/crop but when I did the final render of the .veg file (both as MainConcept mpeg and .wmv9), I could not see any difference from my first attempt. A LOT of combing.

Thanks,
Bob

post a picture of the video before pan/crop & one after. That will help.
