First thing to try is to update your GPU drivers. (Windows updates will often downgrade your gpu drivers.)

Second thing to do is turn off Hardware decoding in the File I/O tab of the Preferences.

If neither of those work, please provide the information that j-v has listed. Knowing your hardware configuration with driver versions along with the specifications for your media can help us diagnose your problem.

I'm using movie studio platinum 17. Every time I try to add a video it crashes. Pictures are fine. Just video. I did all the window 10 updates.
