Vertical Black Bars issue with DVDA 1.0

Using the same settings (NTSC (720x480, 29.970 fps)), I burned two DVDs. One in DVD Architect 1.0 and another in ULead DVD Movie Factory 2.0. The DVD burned with Ulead fills the entire wide-screen laptop display (with horizontal top & bottom bars, of course). But, the one burned with DVDA 1.0, the picture doesn't fully get stretched horizontally to fill the entire screen. So I end up getting vertical black space on both ends of the picture, a boxed picture. I'm new to Sonic editing, and hope someone corrects what I might be doing wrong. Thanks for your help.

1. Open your project in DVDA1
2. File | Optimize...
3. In the 'Individual asset list', select the video
4. Under 'Media video settings', set 'Format' to 'NTSC Wide'
5. Press Ok
6. File | Make DVD...
7. Choose Prepare and Burn and follow steps.

I hope that helps.

Steve,
That did it! Thanks. I thought the ratio NTSC 720x480 automatically meant the widescreen (16:9) format. But I guess not. Would you kind enought to explain what the difference is between regular 720x480 and 720x480 Widescreen? I burned DVDs on both formats and played on my TV, and I didn't really notice any difference. It's only when I played them on my laptop, I noticed that the the dvd burned with 720x480 (not widescreen) didn't play full screen, as I indicated in my original post. Thanks.

BAsically the only difference is the setting of a flag to tell the player / TV what the aspect ratio should be.
