Vertical titles

Hi Everybody, I'm a newbie to this forum. I would Like to make a title vertically on the right side of my screen, layered over a blue strip that starts off transparent and then turns blue as it goes up. I see it on some TV things in horizontal fashion. I would also like to do that on the Architech 3. Any sugestions? Thanks
Jeff

You can rotate the title by using the Pan/Crop option on the title event. Set rotation to 90° or -90° depending on which way you want it to read.

Hmmmm. The full version of Vegas has gradient colors in the Media Generator. I don't recall if the Studio version does or not. If so, use these to produce the fading blue background, then Pan/Crop it to a narrow strip. If not, you can create it in any photo editing software and save it with transparency, then import it as a still image.

You can do it in Movie Studio. I'm still using version 4 until I suck up and buy the newest version, but here is one way to do it:

Select the "text & backdrops" tab.

Select the preset for linear black to transparent and add it as an event.

Change the aspect ratio angle to 90 degrees.

Change the color to whatever shade of blue suits you.

The control point property "distance" will adjust how quickly the transparent fades to color.

Use pan/crop to position this new box/stripe to wherever you want it.

As far as vertical text goes, that depends on if you want each letter stacked above each other vertically (with each letter still horizontal), or if you want an entire word rotated 90 degrees. If the latter, follow Chienworks' suggestion (in fact, treat anything he says as gospel hehehe!).

If the former, about the only thing I can think to do would be to insert a hard return following each letter,
