The scrub control (and trimmer) are present in VF 2. However, they are hidden by default and must be activated by changing some internal settings. This is not a difficult procedure as long as you avoid the temptation to mess with other, more delicate, internal settings.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by the "clip window" so I can't comment on that.

It is possible to freeze a part of a video into a still shot. In fact, you do it in the same manner as you do in VF 1.
