VF worked fine. VV3 doesn't

I recently upgraded from VF2.0c to VV3. My main use is to capture TV shows, edit out commercials and save to CD or DVD. I capture using an AIW Radeon to Mpeg 2, all I frames. I did a couple hundred shows this way with VF, saving to CD using Divx codec. Recently I got a DVD writer and decided to upgrade to VV3 to write to DVD instead.

Now, when I try to render, either the video frame goes black after a few hundred frames and stays that way, or VV aborts with some strange message. The frame going black is strange because all the frames show up properly in the timeline window, and other players play the clip fine. Doesn't matter which format I try to output. Sometimes the black frames show up in the timeline, but I can usually get them to go away by expanding or putting in a split.

Anyone have any ideas about what is happening.

System is:
Asus A7V333
Athlon 1.4GHz
768Mb Mem
10Gb OS disk, 40 and 120Gb data disks
ATI AIW Radeon
W2K SP2 (fresh load before installing VV3)
