Vid Cap can't see camera?

Hi,
I just got a Sony PC120, which I am trying to use with Vid Cap.
The camera is not recognised in any way by the computer.

1394 - Texas Instruments OHCI - latest drivers
PC Athlon 1800+
1/2/gig ram
Windows XP Professional.

I'm sure that the Firewire cable is OK as I used it a few weeks ago.
The 1394 is available in Device manager, but there is no Imaging Device availble (there isn't even the category in the menu).
I know that the Microsoft Dv Codec that I need to connect is included in XP.
Any ideas why I can't connect.
Thanks,
Duder

you should be using the drivers that are built into
WinXP. is that the case?

sometimes my deck isn't recognized, but cycling the power fixes it every time. you should see the device show up in Windows Explorer under My Computer. if you are playing a tape, you can preview the output right there in Windows Explorer. it's a nice feature for troubleshooting.
