VidCap 2.0h failure

Hello,
I am experiencing something completely odd with VidCap 2.0h. NOTHING! It previews video, it previews audio, it even captures video, but no how, under any circumstances, using any setting, will it capture AUDIO! How FRUSTRATING! I've called the 900 number, spent 15 mintues on the phone with a tech, who suggested it was a Microsoft problem. Following his input, I downloaded the latest versions of DirectX 8.0, and also Microsoft's Digital Video Update. Reinstalled, uninstalled, and reinstalled and still no luck. I've emailed the tech twice; so far no response at all from SF.

We've been using this rig just fine until yesterday, then all the sudden it dies!?!?! What's up with that!

Any input from Sonic Foundry or otherwise is much appreciated. Thank you very much

So you are saying that It WAS working fine untill a few days ago?????Did you try to reformat and reinstall everything and again it didn't work? Your not giving me enough information to make a judgement on this. Is your computer used for business or for pleasure or both[ie:music or music/internet+games+etc...]. My copy is fine with win98se,all the directx stuff installed afterward sequencially. Then installing the programs itself. Is your firewire card ok.I never tried to import just audio but if imported both the video and audio and just DELETED the video then you should be ok untill you figure things out. What else are you using in your "rig" say in computer components and software in conjunction with sonic foundry stuff. Later.
