As we'd totally run out of decks yesterday and I desperately needed to capture a few minutes off DVCAM I tried the PD250 camera (PAL version) with VidCap. Best I could get was Device Communication Error but at times out of the sound card I could get what sounded like very horrible digital feedback and yes the camera was switched into "VCR". Same system works fine with most Sony decks, well unless you try to PTT to a DSR-11 (well known problem).

In the end I dubbed the DVCAM tape to MiniDV in a 900 deck and captured from that into Vegas.

The list of Sony products that don't work with Vegas is getting a bit too long for comfort, maybe I should start buying Panasonic decks?
