VidCap: Media Pool and timecodes...

I get this bizarre behavior (I guess) in Media Pool. I captured some clips yesterday using Advanced capture. Some of these clips are recorded with these big mosaic squares (grey ones and multicolored ones, of all sizes...). That's one problem and I don't want to deal with it right now.
I want to recapture these shots but if I check in Media Pool for the timecodes (so I can relocate those clips) these timecodes are not good. I even get a 00:48:02,12 for a clip that was taken from a 40 mins tape (with no timecode break or reset on this tape at the time of shooting or any other imaginable anomaly regarding timecode ). I notice there is a "recapture clip" option but I don't want to use this option. I just cue the tape at the beginning of the shot then hit the "Capture" button then manually stop. This works so since I need those shots for "yesterday" I'll go this way for this assignment...
There must be something I don't understand?
Are these timecodes listed in Media Pool the actual timecodes of the "session" (when I captured) or are these taken from the "original tape" (from where I took these shots) ?

If I am not mistaken- the timecode are imported from tape. Your camera record timecode and vegas reading it.

That's what I thought and these numbers didn't match with the stuff I've been capturing yesterday.
And speaking of "manual capture", I noticed too, yesterday, that the scene detection didn't work and it's working today. I suspect that daisy chaining cam and hard drive to my laptop for capturing isn't as "flawless" as I had been thinking.
But never mind, I re-captured those manually and I have what I've been looking for.

Thanks!
