Vidcap won't capture?

The very first time I tried it Vidcap recognized my Sharp NZ-155U, remote-controlled it, and captured a 1-minute clip. But that was the LAST time. Now when I want to capture I get a box that says either "no device recognized" or "Microsoft DV in use." I've tried all the suggestions in Troubleshooting--turning the cam on before I call up Vidcap, after, etc.--all give the same result.

Everything works fine in Windows Movie Maker or Video Plus, but it's a pain to go to another program to capture DV as avi.

Anyone can help?
