video/audio tracks - no image/wave display

something is out of whack and I can't seem to correct it.

I'm trying to edit an AVI file/ When I open it up on the video/audio track for editing, the track lines are blank, no images on video and no waves on audio. The video is displayed on preview and the audio work when in play/review.

I clicked on something that I cant get out of. Please get me back on 'track' to view what I'm editing.

I'm using VMSPP9. thank in advance

in my continued search for a solution,,I discovered that on the VIEW tab, I clicked on WAVEFORMS and FRAMES and I can see what I'm editing now. The HELP for TRACKVIEW never mentioned this.

oh wow th\is was exactly what i needed thank you and the whole time i just kept reinstalling

however got my video preview back

but now if anyone can help me pull up my fx window
like after I use my video fx
i cant see the screen to edit as far as the box to adjust everything like cookie , brightness all of them cant see them
its like they pop and go behind my toolbar or something please someone help
