Hi,
I'm looking for some advice on purchasing a video camera (I have got the bug) I looking for a camera that will allow me to shoot music videos for local bands and have been doing this currently with cheaper cameras such as Andoer Which isn't great in low light and no near focus. A few people have mentioned Canon. I'm looking for something that's totally digital ie SD no tape and my budget is around £1000 any help would be much appreciated

Thanks Alan

Tape cameras have not been around for a few years now, at least for consumers.

1,000 pound sterling will get you a video camera at the top end of the consumer range or bottom end of the pro range. I'd go for a name brand such as Sony, Canon, Panasonic, JVC etc. Check their sites and specs for their cameras to see what suits you best. Some will shoot 4K, some won't. Some provide provision for remote controls whilst some need an appropriate smartphone to operate them remotely! All, to my knowledge, will record to SD cards and often internal hard drive. Note though that the SD card needs to be of a sufficient class.

Thanks for your reply EricLNZ, I have looked at a few but some of the features are a bit over my head so was hoping a few people could have pointed me to a specific model that would be a great all rounder :)
