Video capture does not show the screen in the device list

Hello Guys!

Maybe I am a bit late, but I think this was a common problem .

I am running Vegas pro 17 on a Intel computer and have a GTX 1660 video card.

It is a gaming laptop from PCspecialist.co.uk

But I have the same issue on a desktop, which is also an Intel I7 computer, but have a ATI radeon card...

When I click for screencapture, the only device shown in the list is the webcam, the screen do not appear.

Maybe I am bilnd, but I am not seeing any configuration settings and I have already tried what has being told on many forums until today.

I am still unable to record the screen, as it still is not appearing in the device list

Any suggestion?

I saw the same on my laptop from signature, but now I have version 20 the problem is gone, look at my video

- So you can use the trial version of VPro 20 to look if that's also the case with you. Link for the trial: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/free-trials/video-editor-free-download/
- I also found a solution for VPro 17, but that one is pretty difficult (to describe)

Thank you, I understand it could be a software bug for the 17...if you have time try to post a video for the solution you made, The fact is I got the licence for the 17 and I am not likely to update. But thanks for you answer.

I don't think its a bug, but a problem with the use of the hardware on your computer.
In my case I copied "C:\Program Files\VEGAS\VEGAS Pro 17.0\VEGASCapture" and did put that map into "C:\Program Files\".
Then I opened "C:\Program Files\VEGASCapture" and rightclicked on " Vegas Capture.exe" to make a shortcut on my desktop.
Doubleclicking on that shortcut opened Vegas Capture with my monitor visible.
Sometimes it was needed to change the used GPU for that program in the NVidia 3D settings.

Well, your trick worked for me, now I see such Generic Pmp monitor, but it is not capturing, it's totally black. But thaks

Maybe it helps if you download and install the latest driverversion for your Graphic Processor. You can do that by this link: https://uk.download.nvidia.com/Windows/516.94/516.94-desktop-win10-win11-64bit-international-nsd-dch-whql.exe
