Video capture from DV

I am using the demo version of VideoFactory in order to
decide on the final purchase and overall compatibility with
my hardware; Optura Pi, Dell 866Mhz, 256Mb Ram, TI OHCI
IEEE 1394 complicant card, 32 MB NVidia video card, Windows
Me.

All is great except that when I capture my clips from DV
via firewire, the preview screen blacks out and I have to
monitor the progress on the camera LCD screen. When I stop
the capture, the preview screen comes back on. I find this
annoying and I noticed that other packages such MGI
VideoWave and DO Intro/EditDV do not behave this way.

Is this a compatibility issue with Windows Me, my capture
card or is this the way VideoFactory was designed?

Thank you,

Mike

You can turn this on in the Options Menu: "Always Preview".
You can also turn on Preview DV audio. Both of these are
turned off to avoid dropped frames in lower performance
systems, but if your system can handle it, turn 'em on.
