Video Capture not working

I've been having quite a bit of trouble with capturing video since upgrading to MS 4 from SonicFoundry VideoFactory 2. I have also recently upgraded to SP2 and wonder if that might cause an issue.

Specifically what happens is when I click on 'capture video' or 'capture tape' the camera starts playing but immediatly pauses and won't capture any clips.

I read somewhere on these boards about the SP2 digital video driver not working properly with all cameras and I reinstalled the old driver and the camera worked for a short time but now I am having the same issues.

Thanks for any help!

Could it be that you've got it set to stop capture as soon as you drop frames -- and then you're dropping frames?

XP SP2 can add more processes in the background, which could be causing dropped frames and aborting your capture.

You can set your capture to continue regardless of dropped frames (Then look at the report to see if frames were dropped). If background processes are interferring, use EndItAll to close all but essential programs. Also, capturing to a separate hard drive dedicated to captured video can make a difference.
