Video capture via AJA Kona LHe missing audio

When I capture video selecting the "HDV or SDI" option and the "AJA Video device" I get the video but the audio is missing. I used the AJA Machina software on the same PC and it captures both video and audio. I'm using Vegas Pro 10e on a Win7 64bit PC. I'm trying to capture from a Sony PVW2800 Betacam SP tape using component and XLR connections to a AJA KL breakout box which in turn plugs into the AJA Kona LHe card using AJA's cables (60 pin and triple BNC). Any suggestions? Why is Machina working and Vegas not?

I'm not at my office so I can't give you certainty on this answer, but I seem to recall that there have been issues for a while capturing audio with component video from AJA cards when using Sony's capture interface. I have the Kona LHe and always use Machina when capturing ANYTHING. Also, I haven't been able to reliably capture from the HDV/SDI program within Vegas since version 9. 10 and 11 are always problematic for me.

Yes, in the "Vegas Family Comparison" page under the video capture options they write: AJA Xena LH, LHe, LS, and LSe board support (Digital only) my edit: (and of course Xena is now Kona)
In my interpretation that means component capture may not be supported at all.

OK back at my office now, and the obvious issue is that Vegas (at least my system) does not recognize the Kona as an available audio device. If you see it as an "Audio Device" option in Preferences, then you have me beat. If you are getting video capture from the Kona component inputs, try sending the analog audio to your default Vegas audio device. I've never tried it, and even it if worked I would be surprised if it matched the Kona's frame offset. It's an additional step, yes, but Machina has never let me down.
