I have a VCR plugged into my SONY TRV-520 Digital8 camcorder with it set to pass the analog signal through to the firewire. The signal from the VCR is showing in the video capture window, but when I hit record, it automatically starts playing the tape I have in the camera. If I take the tape out, the record button becomes unavailable.
I remember there was a straight-forward way to record analog signal passing through the camera like this but I can't figure it out. Right now the only way I manage to is to keep a tape in the camera, make sure there is a good amount of slack on the tape in the VCR, hit record and quickly hit stop on my camcorder, letting video capture continue to record..
