Video Card Question

I'm just getting started and would like to know what video card to purchase. The All-in Wonder 128 has been recommended to me, but I didn't see it on the "tested" list on the Vegas Video Hardware page.

Is there a video card that performs analog video capture, IEEE1394 firewire in/out, DV in/out, has dual monitor support and good performance that has been tested with Vegas Video in the US$300-$400 price range? (I know I'm asking a lot, but I'm really green!) Or do I have to purchase each card separately? If so, could someone make a few recommendations? The list on the hadware page simply stated that the listed cards "worked." I'd like some input from real folks like you who've used the hardware, before I just run out and spend a bag of money. Thanks.

I think this topic has been covered before. You might want to do a search through the old postings if you don't get a response.

I don't know of one card in particular that does all of those things (that definitly does not mean that there is not one out there). But I use a Matrox Millenium G450 for the dual display, a Canopus ADVC-100 for the A/D D/A convertor with a stand alone firewire card. This setup accomplishes everything you want and has been flawless for myself. I got all of these devices for under $400.00, but i did get the Matrox card used off of Ebay.

Canopus ADVC-100 $300.00 roughly
Firewire card- $20-$50 (just make sure it is OHCI compliant)
Matrox G450 dualhead display card- I got mine used for about $50
