Video Cards and rendering

I hear VV unlike Premier only uses the cpu for renders. Premier can be configured to use video cards for rendering. Is there anyway that VV can be set to use a card so as to lessen the load on the cpu?

Faster CPUs are cheap, every time they go faster the render will go faster.
If your relying on custom HW to render you're forever tied into whatever speed they run at and and the effects / transitions they support. And then of course you've got the problem of driver support for new OSs. I know thats not a big issue in the Windows world but its still there.
