Video CODEC not recognized by VV7

G'day all. I recently purchased a video camera designed for sports events, attach to a helmet, vehicle or whatever. The cam is made by "Oregonscientific" and is actually pretty slick. My slight problem, when I try to pull the avi off of the SD card, only the audio comes into VV7, and the info says "can't get codec info" or something like that. I have a work-around, though a bit time-consuming, I can open the file in "Camtasia Studio", render out to another AVI, then put it in VV7. Any ideas on what I can try to go straight into VV7?
Thanks in advance!
Daryl

Sounds to me like they might be using mjpeg for the video codec. I've had issues with that particular codec in the past - you can hear audio, but no video. Might want to look into that.

You can use Gspot to find out which codec it is.
