I am attempting to capture video from a VCR, using my Sony DV camcorder as a pass-through device. Everything works, but the video image only appears for about 1/2 a second in Sony Video Capture 6.0, then goes away. I can still hear the audio, but no video and all the buttons to control the VCR and capture video are grayed out.
Because I am able to see and hear the playback source, I'm assuming that all connections are in order and that the video signal that I want to capture is indeed reaching my PC. I am using the DCR-HC96 camcorder in its docking station with the firewire cable.
I have tried all the help suggestions in the application, and the best I can get is a few seconds of video before it disappears. When capturing directly from the camcorder with a MiniDV, everything works OK. I need to solve this as quickly as possible.
