So my problem is that I want to edit down my 30+ min of video to like a 5 min of good moments and keep my 3 audio tracks separeted(and keep the video) but my original file is like 5 GB (30 minutes) and when I render it it takes 25 GB (5 min) I don't understand why ?What should I change for it to take less space ? Maybe it's just because I'm not use to this site but I didn't find my answer anywhere.

-The output format that I'm using : video for windows (*.avi)

- I have 3 audio tracks

- I have Vegas pro 14.0

Thanks in advance for the anwser !

If you are looking for a good high quality HD or 4K codec that will play on most devices, use the "Magix AVC" encoder, and select one of the templates that corresponds to the resolution of your input video or your desired output resolution. So, if you have 1080p video to start with, and you want to share the video online, select Magix AVC>Internet 1080p. If you want to make a blu-ray, select one of the blu-ray presets at the bottom. If you are aiming for DVD, use the MPEG2 encoder and use one of the DVD architect presets.

Vegas supports a wide variety of video codecs you can use for various reasons, but for general purpose internet or digital delivery use, AVC .mp4 files are your best bet from Vegas. There's also HEVC, but it is still new, requires powerful hardware to decode, and isn't as widely compatible.

Systems:

Desktop

AMD Ryzen 7 1800x 8 core 16 thread at stock speed

64GB 3000mhz DDR4

Geforce RTX 3090

Windows 10

Laptop:

ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo 32GB (9980HK CPU, RTX 2060 GPU, dual 4K touch screens, main one OLED HDR)

One of the AVC codec presets will render good quality video at a decent file size. Make sure the "include audio" box is check marked if it's not already by default.
