video effect begin, end

How can I have the same video effect for my titles in VMS 6 as in VMS4.
I used to see begin and end tabs in VMS4 to create my effects.... where or how do I create the same idea in VMS6.... I am getting frustated here.... it was so simple in the previous version....
I am ready to toss this version and revert to VMS4...... it looks too complicated for me.....
A little help here would be great....

You are going to LOVE the new version when you realize what's happened to Begin/End. You now have keyframes. These allow you to set parameters for the effects as often as you want to throughout the clip, not just at the beginning and ending. Along the bottom of the effects window you will see a tiny timeline (you may have to stretch the window out larger to see it). By default you are at the "begin" point on this timeline. Set the effects you want the clip to start with here. Now move to the end of that little timeline and double-click. You will see a new diamond shape appear and you will be at the "end" point. Set the effects you want for the end of the clip.

Now here's the wonderful part ... you can set those diamond shape markers anywhere along the timeline and have various settings for each of them! If you want your titles to move in, get bigger, rotate, fade, move out and shrink, you can do this with one single clip. With version 4 you would have to split the clip at each of these stages and set separate begin/end values for each stage. Now that whole process will be much simpler and easier.

Thank you so much for your help, Chienworks.... Immense progress... I see the keyframe window... and manage to put the "first" keyframe... but can't put the "last" where I want.... it stops about the middle of my effect, (slide) I would like it to go further than what the last keyframe ("end") key takes me....what is the trick.?
Baby steps isn't it.....

Hmmmm. In the full version the keyframe timeline defaults to showing the entire clip. Maybe that's not the case in the "studio" version. You should see little + - buttons at the right end. Click the - button to reduce the scale until you can see the entire length. You can also scroll the timeline left or right.

Underneath the keyframe timeline are some diamond shaped buttons. The first four respectively move you to the beginning of the event, the previous keyframe, the next keyframe, and the end of the event. This last one may be the easiest for what you want to do. The next two buttons add a keyframe at the current cursor position and delete the current keyframe.

Nuts - just when I thought I could skip this particular upgrade, I learn of a feature I really want that is part of the upgrade!!

Doubt I really need the platinum version (heck, I have a copy of Acid Music Studio sitting unused on a shelf), but I'd probably shoot myself if I only bought the basic upgrade!

Chienworks, you are the best.....
I played all evening with the keyframes.... I can't say I find them easy to use.... yet.... but at least I manage to animate my title.... practice should make them friendlier....I wounder what the grey window above the diamond keyframes is for...the cursor moves in sync Ok though. ...
Thanks again...,,,,
