Video Effect not being displayed?

I'm working a large project...HDV 23.97...using proxies...and I try to add a magic bullet effect to the actual clip and it goes on there...but the clip doesn't show the effects of what i set. However, if i set the magic bullet effect on the whole track..then it shows up on the display...why isn't it showing the magic bullet effect when I add it directly to the clip? (and its just the MB effect that is not working...the other effects work fine)

keyframe put somewhere in the X window?

i don't know what you mean by X window....but i don't think its a keyframe because it's only the magic bullet applied to an individual clip that doesn't work...I can apply any other effect teh same way and it will work...and I can put the magic bullet effect on the whole track and it WILL work.....i just don't understand...and i need it to work...

is it something with the proxies? because i just put in a clip that is a cineform clip...and it took the magic bullet effect just fine....
