Video effects use CPU instead of GPU

Hi, I'm trying out some more video effects in the type of media I am producing - one of which being the stabilisation plugin that is built in with VEGAS Edit 15. Whenever I apply the effect to a clip, it always renders using my CPU. I have enabled the setting to use the GPU in the preferences menu and the video ultimately does render using my GPU however applying the effect re-renders the clip selected with the effect using my CPU.

Maybe because that effect is not a GPU accelerated one, so will use the CPU?

But then, you really failed to give any information about what computer hardware you are using.

Hi Reyfox, I didn't think any of that was important because I was asking about an effect within a version of Vegas I already specified. I was unaware there were CPU and GPU accelerated effects as this is my first time wanting to use them - I had assumed since the setting was enabled for GPU rendering it wouldn't matter.

@MrQuantumGames Hi, you may think it is unimportant but anybody who is going to help will want to know the basics of your system CPU, GPU etc., Windows version, Vegas version, the details of the media your using & the effect you're trying to use/render, only then an overall picture can be formed & a process of illimitation or resolve can be sort,

supplying too much info is better than too little 👍

Post a full screen capture of Vegas with the fx your using & the render options,

Right click the Start button on you desktop - Device Manager, in there you'll find the CPU & GPU

Download MediaInfo, it's free, https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo

after install right click on the media you imported into Vegas, open MediaInfo,

choose Text from the View option,

right click Select all, copy then paste in a comment on here,

Your assumption is wrong that just because you selected GPU acceleration, everything will be GPU accelerated. You failed to mention what specific effect you are using. It might be GPU accelerated, but we have no way of knowing since the required information to actually know was not provided.

I can drop one of my 4K video clips on the timeline and do nothing with it. If I render it out without adding anything to it, the GPU will be at 100% when rendering. Toss on a title, slight cropping, a little color grading, and all these additional "effects" will slow down the rendering process.
