Video for Internet

Hi I have a 2 hour video that I shot for a client. I gave them the DVD and now they want to create a windows media file so that people can view it on-line. Any ideas as to what settings that I should use?

I would suggest AVC/MP4 or AVC/FLV, which are both Flash compatible, rather than a Windows Media format.

Reasons? Better compatibility, playability, compactness, and quality.

I agree with musicvid - any flash compatible format will make it easier to upload as well as easier to view ...
I also think you should probably break it up into smaller chunks to upload and view as well...
it'll take quite a while to upload regardless of the format... so smaller chunks might make it easier;
and I don't think any viewer would want to sit through a 2 hour video unless there is some way to mark their spot and come back later...

I have my project settings on DV widescreen with HDV on the timeline since it will ultimately be going to DVD.
I was going to make one of the files you mentioned above (I usually just go with .wmv) and don't even see a template for it so I went to custom and changed 640 to 720...anything else?
