Video for Power Point - yes I said "Power Point"

While not nearly as fun as my other video work, I do have a regular requirement to create video clips to be played in power point presentations (it just sucks when the "real world" gets in the way of my artistic persuits!!!)

Problem is, my file sizes are always too big. what is the best format and best way to render SMALL file sizes for video that doesn't have to be full screen and will run on a PC.

thanks!!!

WMV 9 is great for small file sizes and is specifically Microsoft compatable. Anyone who has Media Player 7 (with net access to download the new codec) or Media Player 9 can play them directly from within PowerPoint. If you want to be more generic than that then MPEG-1 is the best choice. Unfortunately you will get lower quality for a larger file size than WMV9. An intermediate compromise is an older version of Windows Media, such as 8 or 7.

There's a company in Melbourne Australia called Vividas that uses Flash compression to really great quality video (near DVD!) onto CDs with extremely small file sizes. Well worth an email. www.vividas.com

There's also a great program for converting a PowerPoint presentation, complete with user actions onto a DVD. DVD Xpoint from 321 Studios.
