Up the bitrate in your Quicktime render settings. Also, if you do much QT output, I encourage you to invest in Sorenson Pro- looks great, far better than ANY other QT compression.

MPEG- do you have the plug-in (you might not if you have an older version of Vegas)? It is included with Vegas 2.0g (with a few stability improvements).

I am running Vegas 2.0g. Is there a special step to upgrade the MPG side or should that be automatically installed now?

I'll look into Sorenson Pro - thanks for the tip!

Apparantly you can get close to variable bit rate quality in Quicktime by using the quality slider instead of setting a fixed bit rate. Only problem is, you have no idea how big the file will end up.

Mpeg should be automatically installed with Vegas 2.0g. It does require a separate registration (as stated on the download page). Select .MPG as a render option, and the reg dialog pops up- pretty painless, a one-time deal.

In that case...HELP! I'm having issues.

Whenever I try to render as an .MPG I get an error message that tells me "The reason for the error can not be determined" and it offers no additional details.

Any ideas?

Please re-install Vegas- sounds like something got messed up in the registry.

I'll give that a shot. Thanks!
