Video Freezes

I'm working on a project that I rendered with V7 using the DVDA NTSC template for video and Ac3 template for the audio. Prepared the project in DVDA 4 and burned in Nero and DVDA. Used 3 different media; Memorex +R, Verbatim +R, and Fujifilm-R, rendered all the videos a second time in Vegas, started a new project in DVDA with no luck.

The DVD's play fine on the computer but when using the set top player the videos will freeze for a few seconds and jump back to the begining of the chapter or just freeze altogether, sometimes moving on and sometimes not.. I have 8 tracks including the lead in and this problem is present on all the tracks.

I've tried other DVDs in the player that I created in DVDA 4, DVDAS 3, and DVDAS 2 and they all play flawlessly.

I'm running out of ideas, hair, and my stack of media.

Any Ideas?

Totally uneducated guess: Could it be the bitrate? Do you know what bitrate was used to prepare that DVD?

I used the default template for DVD Architect NTSC video stream on my first render where the radio button is set for variable bit rate. I did this on three of the tracks and burned a test DVD, preparing in DVDA and burning in Nero. Along with the freezing I noticed some jagged edges on straight lines so I searched the forum for a solution and found two possible causes for the jagged edges but not the freezing. I changed the project properties of Deinterlace method to "blend fields" (this gave me better results in Vegas over "Interpolate fields") and in the template for the render I un-checked "Allow field-based motion compensation" per the Help chart for the "Advanced Video" tab of the default template.

This solved the problem of the jagged edges but did nothing for the freezing.

Now after creating six coasters with different media and changing settings I'm still stumped!
