Video is looking weird both in the preview and redering

tayna-m wrote on 2/26/2024, 8:43 AM

Hi guys, I have been trying to render a video since yesterday, but it looks like this in some parts both when in the preview before I start rendering and after I render too. Before I do any cuts on the video or do anything with it, it looks fine and I don`t have that problem, but the moment I do anything on it, it starts to look like that in some parts

That sometimes can be an issue when video is captured in a format that does not sit well with Vegas, example variable frame rates captured video files etc or some screen capture devices..... If these are gaming capture, try different capturing methods....... Also what are the format of these video files and the format/settings you are selecting when rendering out?

Video format is avc, and I was also using avc format to render the video, from what the info says, that is a variable frame rate video, what should I do to solve my problem

To me it looks that your problem is caused by the Variable framerate of your MP4 sourcefile with the AVC codec.
That can be solved by first converting it to constant framerate of 60fps. before using in Vegas. Therefore you can use the free Handbrake or Shutter Encoder.

Most likely it is the problem yes, I`m gonna try the handbrake

@tayna-m From what you have sent, its what iv'e suspected, the Variable Frame Rate (VFR) is the sole cause of your issue. So you simply just work around that using a Constant Frame Rate instead.

It worked, thanks for the help, guys!
