Hey musicvid :
Does the histogram that you've shown have any "bars" for manipulating colour to bring colour "into line" so to speak ?
My wife has this "histogram/colour bar" feature in Photoshop and she simply pulls the levers until the histogram falls into a certain alignment and, bingo.
With this simple manipulation the colours that she achieves with her old Canon digital camera and Photoshop always beats the hell right out of my HV30 and VMS colour adjustment. I can never seem to get there.
Current upgrade price is $485 US. There are always deeper discounts when a new version is released, don't know how long that will be.
In the meantime, you can download the trial version of Vegas Pro 9 and give it a test drive. The features I use most over VMS are unlimited tracks, custom rendering options in MPEG-2 and AVC, and the scopes.
what about using the free equivalent in AVIsynth.?
iIknow you can access VirtualDub filters using WAX .... perhaps you can access AVIsynth from within Vegas timeline ? .... but don't know if this is possible.
