Hi there, so I know moving videos from one Drive on Windows to an External Hard Drive messes up the location, however I was wondering if I can just tell it to replace it, or do I have to manually find each specific video again?
I may be wrong, but I seem to recall that when you open a project and the video can't be found, it prompts you to search for it or choose manually. Once the first asset is located, it asks if you want to use that location to find the remaining assets. As long as the filenames have not changed, Vegas should be able to find all your assets without having to manually specify a location.

As was stated, the 'missing file' prompt should appear if the file has been moved or renamed. The prompt should have options to 'Search' or 'Specify a new location'. After re-adding the file(s) and saving, I think the next time the file is opened, the 'missing file' prompt may reoccur if the old path is not removed. 'Tools> Clean Project Media'.
Yeah there's one issue with this is that it can't go across different .veg files. That's why I was looking for a way to just change the Drive Letter mostly just for the one project that got moved.
I compartmentalize my projects so that all the project files and assets are in the project folder. Even after I move the project to an archive on a spinning disk instead of an SSD, it still works. I almost never have to answer a message about where the file went.
