Video Noise Filter in Version 13?

I have been waiting on a Video Noise Filter for a few versions now...

I'm sorry to name a competitor, but PowerDirector has had a great Video Noise Filter for years, simple and automated and it works great for restoring older projects. I prefer the workflow and capability of Vegas though - I just don't understand why it is taking them so long (if they are even working on one) to implement such a thing.

Is there a video noise filter in version 13, which I see is out now?
Is it something that the Pro version has and the Movie Studio versions don't?

I would consider springing for the Pro version if it had a similar video noise filter as PD has (I won't post a link but you can find examples of it online). Am I missing it and it's there?

With Vegas, that would normally be the job of a third party plugin, possibly expensive.
Sorry I can't speak to native video nr in the latest versions, but I'm sure if it exists, someone will chime in.

This guy has a preset:

You will have to ask him if it works for your version of Movie Studio.

For some obscure reason, Sony is hiding their standard video noise reduction plugin under the name 'Median'. It has been around since version 6, so I'm pretty sure it will be in your version of Vegas also...

I'm sorry I didn't return to this thread for so long - and it appears there is no Notification utility at this forum...

@Ivan
Thank you for pointing me to "Median". It does filter fine grain somewhat, but seems to work mainly by blurring and negatively affects text quite a bit, deforming it greatly and details are lost.

Thanks again for all the responses, but it's unfortunate that Vegas does not seem to have a true material-analyzing Noise Filter.

If you have the suite, there is the BCC Noise Reduction Filter which is good to very good as are all of the BCC plugins in the VMS 13 suite.

@D7K

Thanks - I'll have to consider upgrading then and try those out
