Video Playback Files Changed after Install Vegas 4.0

I recently downloaded a few MPEG's off the web, one of them in particular being 60MB and running for 15mins, which I didnt finish watching in Windows Media Player.

I then downloaded Video Vegas 4.0 Demo and installed it, when i went back to watch my 60MB file, the duration of my file was only 2mins:20sec. I thought this cant be right and uninstalled VV 4.0 Demo and tried to watch the file again and it was back to 15mins.

I thought to myself this cant be a issue with VV 4.0 so I installed it again and tried my file with WMP and it was 2mins:20sec again. Thinking that this may be a WMP issue, I then downloaded Multimedia Jukebox, PowerDVD and RealONE Player. 2mins:20 secs in Jukebox and PowerDVD. RealOne was the only player which played my 60mb in its correct time.

Has anyone else encountered this problem or know of anyways that I can get my files to function properly.

Anyones thoughts and suggestions would be very much appreciated

I have the Vegas 4 demo (waiting on boxed version) and I haven't had any media times change in WMP. In WMP though, it always displays the wrongtime for everything except WMV files, so try playing the file past the 2:20 mark and see if it works. Are you using WMP 9? That's the buggiest one (the one that displays the wrongtime).

Hmmm yeah I am using WMP 9.. But I had the same problem when I was using WMP 8...
I also had the same kind of problem when I was using Video Vegas 3.0c when I installed without the c update things were fine, but when I installed the C update for vv 3.0 it totally lost it again. I uninstalled completely and tried VV 4.0 beta everything was sweet..but then the latest demo version totally screws some of my files.
And yeah I tried it and it only manages to play 2:20 of the movie

Please help anyone
