Your specs seem like they are about the same as mine. REAL TIME is misleading... you still need one Hell of a Powerful system to acutally get REAL TIME without the jerks and stutters.

Premiere has a package deal with Matrox (and maybe some others) that offers a bit more REAL TIME preview and playback provided you use the certain FX that have been optimized for it.

All in all... you will still have these stutters... till you get that bad@$$ machine that can handle it all. I've seen specs listed in the forums on systems that people say can handle it without the stutters... but they are expensive.

I saw where SPOT had put together a new system. It all looks and sounds good till you check out the price. Very do-able if you're a Pro making money or working at a Post House that will put out for it. unfortunately for us 'Not So Professionals' that are making 'Not So Much Money' we are stuck with the stutters.

There are some optimizations you can do to your system that will help you a bit with performance... but don't hold your breathe thinking your system will blaze... because it simply won't. -Unless you're doing 1 Layer w/ Cuts ONLY, and No FX.
