Video Proxy Errors

Jesse-Valencia wrote on 11/27/2023, 10:32 PM

I am a longtime Movie Studio user, and was trying out the trial version of Vegas Pro 21 to see if it would fit into my workflow. I mostly love the software and everything, but while trying to edit some footage Canon Eos R footage, it seems like Vegas Pro is really struggling. Ironically, this has never been an issue for me with Movie Studio (I use MS Platinum 16.0), since they are just 1080p 8-bit .mp4 files. When I put them in the timeline they just show as black in the preview window with a few frames popping up every now and then, but it seems to not be consistent which frames are showing. When I try and make a proxy, it turns the video preview completely red, sometimes with no frames making it through, and others with something like just the first few seconds being completely red(depending on the file). I don't know if this is a common issue, and I can attach screen recordings if needed, but this would be a pretty big deal-breaker if I wasn't able to edit this type of file :( Thank you!!

I have a 6gb GTX 1060 GPU, and the EOS R records mp4 files with the MPEG4 AVC/H.264 codec.

Could you show us a screenshot of the driver update screen in VEGAS?
