video render problem (halos)

After rendering avi (from dv cam) to mpeg-2 for dvd I get a halo effect. It is only happening on this clip that is a stationary person singing with a light green background. Very well lit, clear video. It is a pulsating light effect making several halos that move outward from the person. Much more noticable (thank goodness) on the mpeg-2 clip, played on the computer, than on the actuall dvd. Does anyone have any suggestions?

What is the bitrate?
Also know that you are seeing a gamma difference between a computer monitor and a DVD player. When authoring, did you preview on an external monitor? Greens will tend to 'pulsate' as a result of the color sampling and the luma value of green, but you'll usually see this on the external monitor. A computer monitor won't show this as readily. Check your histogram as well, you may have illegal greens.
Post a jpeg or tga somewhere, I'm sure the answer is easily found and remedied.
