Video skipping in final product

I did a quick search for an answer to this, but didn't find what I needed... apologies if it's been asked many times before...

I'm using Sony Vegas Movie Studio v. 6.0 and run WinXp on my PC.

I created a 4 minute video made up of several different home movie clips set to music, and when previewed in Vegas as a project, it looks fine.

However, after I save it as a movie, portions of the video skip.

I'm trying to save it to a mpeg file. I tested it by saving to a real media file, and the clips did not skip.

I made sure to leave the computer undisturbed while saving the project. No other programs running, nothing to bother Sony while it was creating the file.

It's the same two clips that skip each time. I even deleted the original clips and re-uploaded them from my camcorder to make sure they weren't faulty to begin with.

Any suggestions??

At what bitrate did you render to? If it's a very high bitrate, over say, 9Mbps, that could be the culprit. It also might just be a decoder problem, have you tried it in various mpeg players? I'd recommend trying the Windows Media Classic player and see what happens there, or try Nero Showtime player.

Also, make sure you don't have other programs running while you are reviewing your product. When another program uses a high amount of CPU while your reviewing your file, it casues a drag on the video. You can get a few different effects from it like short pausing or what appears to be dropped frames.
