Please check if you have accidentally enabled the V18's hidden adjustment track feature. It can affect the tracks below.

True in theory, but Adjustment Track was first introduced with Vegas Pro 19 - https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/release-vegas-pro-19--131059/ - it wasn't available in Vegas Pro 18. And even in VP19, the Adjustment Track would have shown in the timeline image positioned above the video tracks - and the FX would have needed to have been added at track level on the Adjustment Track, not at track level on a lower track which contains the video events.

Yes, the hidden adjustment track feature has already existed since Vegas 9.0.

Until Vegas 19, it was officially rebranded as the new feature, but actually it indeed is a very old feature.
