Video won't play after reset

Reset Vegas Pro 17 to default. Now every video created in this version no longer play. All media loads correctly and no third party VSTs are in use. Have uninstalled and re-installed several times, but results stay the same. Everything was working fine until I upgraded to Pro 23. That literally started a cascade of issues with PC functions and created  strange USB behavior. Have uninstalled Pro 23 and have no plans to try again any time soon. (wasted money, time)
System is Win 10, 64 bit, Ryzen 7, 32gb memory.

Update: Magix customer service no longer supports version 17.

And creating a new video has the same result, will not play.

What video are you rendering that will not play? How are you rendering it? Can you do a media info on the file and post it here. https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo/Download - it is free. V23 can be installed along side other Vegas versions with no bad effects. Also what is the initial media you are using, again post the mediainfo. without this there is nothing to go on to help you.

Does MediaInfo work with a Ryzen 7 CPU? Didn't see an option for that.

As mentioned, I can't get any completed project I created in V17 on the same PC to play. Nothing has changed except reset of V17 to default. Created new very simple test project with the same result.

(as for V23, first the installer wouldn't run, got that resolved, then launching, got hung-up loading an izoptope vst, resolved that and then couldn't load any previous veg project files because of an mst error and every 5 seconds after that, it said "not responding")

Mediainfo appears as a menu via right click via mouse button on the media file. I would not suggest relying on V23 just yet as it has too many bugs, an updated version is due soon.
