Videomaker Magazine recently (or, at least, I just noticed) announced their 2004 Short Video Contest. Basic rules are that it needs to be five minutes or less, in WMV format, and the equipment used must cost $20,000 or less. Full rules available in the August issue and on their website (which I can't seem to access right now).
But the real reason I thought to mention this here is that -- check it out -- first prize is Vegas+DVD, which I think is pretty cool. (Second prize is the Adobe Video collection, and third prize is Pinnacle Liquid Edition. ;) Grand prize is a "JonyPrompter JonyJib 12," which I gather is some kind of camera mount.
